Afghan officials said on Sunday they had arrested three Taleban insurgents in the southern province of Helmand during an operation. Defence ministry spokesman Zahir Azimi said on Monday that the militants were nabbed in the Girishk district of the province. The spokesman added that they had also seized a quantity of light weapons and explosives from the rebels. Four Afghan police were killed and ten others, including two US troops, were wounded in two separate bomb blasts in the Girishk and Hazarjoft districts of the province three days before.
