Wolesi Jirga debates the fate of three ministers
Cheragh is an independent daily run by the Development and Democracy Association.
Although some members of the Wolesi Jirga or lower house of parliament gave their approval to three ministers who secured 50 per cent of the vote on April 22, others rejected them. This prompted the chamber to debate their future on April 23. Parliamentarian Abdul Kabir Ranjbar told the house that under the terms of Article 106 of the constitution, these three ministers have failed to win approval. But another member, Abdul Rabb Rasul Sayyaf, insisted they had won confirmation. There was no discussion of the issue when the house met again on April 24.
