Who makes Jonathan's list of Ministers
Speculations are making the rounds as to the likely composition of President Goodluck Jonathan’s cabinet for his fresh tenure commencing on the 29th of this month.
Reports say that the main business during his working retreat to Obudu Ranch resort was to fine tune the team of men and women who would help drive his programmes in the next four years.
Indications from the nature of guests that he received while there point to the fact that technocrats and competent professionals will find a place in the cabinet. Besides, the president is known to be very well disposed to affirmative action and so more female faces are likely to be gracing the federal executive council meetings.
It is not clear who will make the final list although names of Nigerians serving at International organisations are being touted.
However, one thing appears certain. Despite intensive lobbying by political heavy weights, President Jonathan is not likely to make the mistake of appointing just anyone to his cabinet for the sake of compensation.
That much Nigerians expect of him.
