Unified Kurdish Cabinet Postponed

Awene is an independent newspaper issued weekly by Awene Printing and Publishing Company.

The unification of the Kurdish cabinet has been unexpectedly postponed until the beginning of May. The cabinet was expected to be formed on April 26. Kurdistan Parliament speaker Adnan Mufti told Awene that the decision was made because the parliament will meet with Iraqi and foreign delegations (until early May). "It doesn't have anything to do with disputes between KDP (Kurdistan Democratic Party) and PUK (Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.)" (Iraqi Kurdistan, which has a regional government separate from Baghdad, will unify its two administrations that are currently run by the Kurdistan Democratic Party in Erbil and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Sulaimaniyah.)
