UNHCR to build 19,000 shelters for returnees

Cheragh is an independent daily run by the Development and Democracy Association.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR, has announced that it will construct 19,000 shelters for refugees returning from Iran and Pakistan and for internally displaced people. UNHCR expects to help repatriate 400,000 refugees from Pakistan and 200,000 from Iran this year. More than 3.5 million Afghan refugees have returned home since the fall of the Taleban regime in 2001.
