Turkmenistan Presents Tourism Plans for Caspian Seaport

The Turkmen government will present plans for a free economic zone in the Turkmenbashi resort area to foreign businessmen and tour operators at the Caspian seaport on July 21,



The government has set aside one billion US dollars for the project.



Turkmen president Gurbanguly Berdymuhammedov first indicated that he wanted to develop Caspian tourism in May, when he suggested that foreign investors build hotels and amusement centres in Turkmenbashi.



The Turkmen cabinet will also discuss legislation to simplify investment procedures for the tourism industry.
