Three Taleban commanders were killed in a clash with government forces in the Panjwayee district of the southern province of Kandahar on the night of May 14, officials said. Provincial governor Assadullah Khalid confirmed the incident and identified the commanders as Mullah Baqi, Mullah Manan and Mullah Fida Mohammad. The body of one of the commanders is being held by police, while the attackers buried the other two on the battlefield, he said. The clash broke out after a group of Taleban attacked Afghan police in the Panjwayee district.
