Three suspected rebels caught in Paktika

Erada is an independent daily run by the Afghan Media and Resource Centre.

The Afghan defence ministry said it arrested three suspected Taleban fighters in the south-eastern province of Paktika late on January 23. A press officer at the defence ministry, Akbarzada, said the three suspects, identified as Gul Jan, Ali Jan and Shawali, were arrested and three Kalashnikov assault rifles and a pistol seized in the Khair Kot area during an operation conducted by the Afghan National Army. According to the spokesman, the men have been handed over to the provincial intelligence department for interrogation.
