Taleban, Hizb-e-Islami loyalists join government in Khost

Erada is an independent daily run by the Afghan Media and Resource Centre.

Forty-one Taleban and Hizb-e-Islami loyalists joined the central government in the south-eastern province of Khost on March 7. The men included 35 senior officials of the former Taleban regime while the other six were members of the Hizb-e-Islami party. Provincial governor Mirajuddin Patan said that these people would never again oppose the government. He called on other government opponents to join the national reconciliation process.
