Taleban insurgents claimed that they killed four policemen when they fired rockets at a checkpoint on the boundary between Paktia and Khost provinces on the night of March 27. Officials say that there were no fatalities. General Mohammad Ayoub, the police chief of Khost, confirmed there had been a rocket attack on the police post, but said no one was killed although two policemen sustained injuries. Purported Taleban spokesman Dr Mohammad Hanif said four Afghan policemen were killed in the attack.
