Talabani Receives Iran Invitation

Al-Sabah is a daily newspaper supported by the Iraqi government.

Iraqi president Jalal Talabani received an invitation from Iranian president Mahmood Ahmadinejad to meet with the Iranian leader in Tehran. The Iranian ambassador to Iraq, Hassan Kazmi Qumi, submitted the invitation during a meeting with the president. Talabani insisted that Iran should participate in helping the Iraqi government's efforts to bring stability to the country as well as to the Iraqi economy. The Iranian ambassador insisted on strengthening his country's relationship with Iraq, saying that stability in the country will reflect positively on the entire region. (Talabani is expected to visit the Iranian leader on July 18.
