Talabani: Defence and Interior Ministers Should Be Independent

Al-Adala is issued daily by the Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq.

President Jalal Talabani and US ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad have insisted that it is vital that the interior and defence ministries be led by figures independent (of parties and militias.) A press release from the president's office said that Talabani and Khalilzad, in their meeting on Wednesday, approved of the new national unity government to rebuild Iraq.
