Suicide bomber killed in Kandahar

Anis is a state-run daily published mostly in Dari.

A suicide bomber was killed in the Maiwand district of the southern province of Kandahar on April 1, officials said. The 205th Atal Corps commander in Kandahar, General Rahmatullah Raufi, confirmed the incident, saying the bomber, driving an explosive-laden Toyota Corolla, was intending to target Afghan National Army and Coalition Forces crossing through the area. He added that only the attacker was killed in the explosion, and no Afghan or Coalition troops were hurt.
