Spiritual Leader Advises President on Cabinet
The spiritual leader of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church worldwide, the most reverend Samuel Abidoye has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to ensure that he appoints into his cabinet, more professionals and technocrats who can help move the country forward.
Abidoye said at a news conference in the north western city of Kaduna that the president should appoint a few politicians into the federal cabinet and establish a government founded on the fear of God, transparency, accountability, honesty and commitment to job creation.
The clergyman reminded the president of his electoral promises, pointing out that he should be aware that Nigerians look up to him to provide infrastructure such as adequate electricity, good roads, potable water as well as security of lives and property which had been lacking for long.
According to him, it is only when these dividends of democracy are provided that the government would attract foreign investments, improve the economy and ultimately raise the general standard of living of the people.
While challenging the government to stamp out corruption from the nation, he warned that those to be appointed ministers and other public office holders should refrain from the temptation of lining their pockets with public funds.
