Afghan and Coalition soldiers killed six insurgents during a joint operation in the eastern province of Kunar on April 12, the Coalition military said. “The operation began with pre-dawn air and ground assaults on Wednesday in the Pech Valley,” said a Coalition statement. The operation, involving 2,500 soldiers from the Afghan army and various Coalition units, was designed to disrupt insurgent activity, deny the militants sanctuary and damage their ability to re-supply.
