Six Afghan soldiers wounded in Paktika

Hewad is a state-run daily published mostly in Pashto.

A suicide bomber wounded six Afghan National Army soldiers in the Barmal district of the south-eastern province of Paktika on April 9. Afghan defence ministry spokesman General Zahir Azimi confirmed the incident, saying a suicide bomber who had wrapped explosives around his body blew himself up close to an army brigade in the district. Azimi said that the attacker has not been identified yet and an investigation is under way.
