The office of the top Shia cleric, Ali al-Sistani, has called on tribal leaders to hold a conference to stop Iraqi bloodshed at the hands of insurgents. Sistani representative in Karbala, sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Kerbalai, has called on Sunni and Shia tribal leaders to help hold a conference to stop insurgent bloodshed against Iraqis. He said they want to save the country from its tragic situations, and said it is the religious and patriotic responsibility of tribal leaders to put an end to the crises overwhelming the country.
