The head of the United Iraqi Alliance, Abdulaziz al-Hakim, has called for all political blocs to take part in the political process so as to increase security. At a meeting with United Nations Secretary General’s special envoy Ashraf Qazi, Hakim stressed the importance of solving problems facing displaced families – 70 per cent of whom are Shia - and to address issues facing Kurds and Christians. He called for a tough stance on terrorist groups and dialogue with the states that aid them.
