The International Committee for the Red Cross has expressed concern about continuing violations of international humanitarian law throughout Iraq. The organization, according to its Baghdad director Nada Domani, has renewed its call to political parties, groups and individuals to respect the law and to safeguard civilians' lives and properties. Domani said the organization has provided Basra's health office with surgical equipment to treat the victims of the car bomb attack in the main public market that killed 28 and wounded 62 civilians. Separately, officials from the foreign ministry, human rights ministry and the high judicial board participated in a course in Amman on understanding and applying international law. The course was funded by the Iraqi Red Crescent.
