Post-election violence: Disband probe panel
A fresh call has been made for the dissolution of the presidential probe panel on post-election violence in northern Nigeria.
The panel was recently constituted by President Goodluck Jonathan to unravel the causes of the mayhem and bring perpetrators to justice.
But the Nigerian Coalition for the International Criminal Court said the panel might end up diverting attention from the real master-minds of the violence.
Leaders of the coalition, Chino Obiagwu and Jibo Ibrahim also said reports of government panels are rarely made public and this latest one may follow the same pattern.
According to Obiagwu and Ibrahim, Government should simply proceed with the prosecution of all suspects including politicians who might have incited the armed rioters.
