Negotiations are underway between key political parties to abandon sectarian allegiances in a bid to bring peace to Iraq. Among those taking part in the talks are the Supreme Council of Islamic Revolution in Iraq, the Democratic Party of Kurdistan and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. Sources confirmed that negotiations were aimed at forming a united front that would bring security to the country and would call on all bodies that are ready to work towards a peaceful and democratic Iraq.
