Police Investigating Kidnapping of Senatorial Candidate

Police are investigating the kidnapping of a Labour Party Senatorial candidate in the Federal Capital Territory.

Mr Kayode Ajulo, was reportedly abducted by gunmen from is car after making broadcasts from two Abuja radio stations.The police say they have recovered the car in which the Labour politician was travelling in. It was found in the Dutse Alhaji area of the city.

The National Chairman of the Party, Dan Nwayanwu, said that Ajulo had been receiving anonymous text messages threatening him, and warning him to drop out of the Senatorial race.
Nwayanwu expressed the hope that the kidnapping would not affect his party’s chances in the National Assembly elections.
