Plea to Protect Students

London-based Azzaman is issued daily by Saad al-Bazaz.

The general conference of Ahlul Iraq headed by National Accord Front leader Adnan al-Dulaimi has asked the multilateral forces and the Iraqi government to take immediate action to stop attacks on students and offer them protection. A declaration issued by the conference said such attacks targeted an important sector of society. The statement followed the abduction of 12 students sitting their final exams and other 10 other students at a college of technology who were taken away by gunmen who raided their dormitory. The association of Iraqi youth and students has asked the kidnappers to show mercy.
