Iraqi parliament speaker, Mahmood al-Mashhadani, criticized the United Iraqi Alliance and the Iraqi Accord Front for increasing sectarian tensions in the country. Before ending the session of parliament, Mashhadani called on the Shia United Iraqi Alliance and the Sunni Iraqi Accord Front to combat the sectarianism. "It's up to the Alliance and the Accord Front to sit down and talk to and solve sectarian tensions between Sunni and Shia," Mashhadani said. He also accused the Kurdistan Alliance of acting as spectators of what is happening in the country. Mashhadani said, "We are all in the same boat. If it is sinks, we'll all sink."
