Parliament continues scrutinising ministers

The Kabul Times is a state-run daily published in English.

The minister-designate for the portfolio responsible for martyrs, the disabled and social affairs, Noor Mohammad Qarqeen, has promised to take effective steps to create job opportunities for the unemployed. Qarqeen was the 21st out of a list of 25 ministers to appear before parliament to seek confirmation in office from the legislators. The cabinet list was submitted by President Hamed Karzai about a month ago. Without elaborating on his plans, Qarqeen said steps will be taken to improve conditions for the disabled and help relatives of martyrs.
