Opposition Members' Property Vandalised

The Syrian Human Rights Committee has reported that property belonging to a leading opposition group has been damaged, apparently as part of an ongoing crackdown by the authorities against their critics.



In a report issued on its website on January 22, the London-based Syrian Human Rights Committee reported that property belonging to four members of the National Council of the Damascus Declaration group was damaged in separate incidents in the northern city of Aleppo.



Three opposition members’ cars were smashed, including that of Mohammed Haji Darwish, whom the authorities have detained since January 7. The studio of painter and opposition leader Talal Abu-Dan was ransacked.
