Some highly educated friends told me that the current Iraqi president Jalal Talbani is an educated person. Firstly a Kurd and firstly an Iraqi, he knows three languages: English, Kurdish and Arabic. He is like other Kurds: Good, loyal, and generous. For all these qualifications, Mam Jalal won the support of the majority of Iraq and was elected president (by parliament.) In Cairo, he announced his readiness to meet with the so-called resistance because he never thinks of rejecting meetings with any Iraqi group. He lost nothing; on the contrary, he won the public opinion by putting the resistance in the corner. He proved that he (has embraced) democratic principles, worked to eliminate terrorism and stop the sectarian war. He believes that dialogue is the only way to accept the other side and is a gateway to peace in Iraq.
