Al-Adala is issued daily by the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq.

I have been thinking since early this morning about a suitable headline for this piece, but to no avail. So I’ve decided not to write my daily column today. The reason why I’ve been unable to identify a single idea worthy of publication was that like many other columnists, I have in the past written on many themes related to the sufferings of ordinary Iraqis, such as power cuts, water outages, the poor security situation, and the low standard of public utilities. That made us targets for certain criminal elements. Yet there was no response from the official agencies concerned. We were unsure whether the officials read our writings, or whether our explanations were deficient. Maybe they were busy with matters other than the sufferings of the people. Personally, I have been unable to reach any conclusion - I don’t know whether readers have.
