Ocalan Says Ceasefire is Last Chance

Kurdistani Nwe is a political daily issued by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

Jailed PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan says the Kurdish guerrilla force’s announcement of a unilateral ceasefire is a “last chance” which should be carefully considered by the Turkish government. In remarks to his lawyer, Ocalan suggested he could only ensure the ceasefire lasted five months, after which time he would be powerless to secure an extension.
