Mishhadani Praises US Role in Stopping Sectarian Violence

Parliamentary speaker Mahmoud al-Mishhadani has warned that the failure of political parties to resolve their differences would plunge the country into sectarian violence. In a report in the al-Hayat newspaper in London, he said that the security situation in Baghdad showed signs of civil war. He stressed the importance of the American forces in Baghdad, admitting that sectarian attacks on government troops are a sign of the its inability to maintain security in the capital.
