Militants behead teacher in Zabul

Gunmen in the Qalat district of the southern province of Zabul beheaded a schoolteacher in front of his children on the night of January 3, officials said. The teacher, identified as Abdul Habib, had been teaching for 20 years. Provincial security officials say the assailants have not yet been identified and that no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the brutal act. Local officials blamed Taleban militants for the murder, saying the teacher was not involved in any personal feud. A provincial security official said three suspects had been captured in connection with the incident, and are now being interrogated.
