Hewad is a state-run daily published mostly in Pashto

Unidentified gunmen attacked an Afghan police post in the Barmal district of the south-eastern province of Paktika on the night of April 28, said officials. The Afghan Interior Ministry confirmed the incident, adding that the attack sparked a four-hour firefight between the two sides. The attackers managed to escape after facing stiff resistance from the security forces, the source added.
