Militants attack police post in Kunar

Cheragh is an independent daily run by the Development and Democracy Association.

Armed militants attacked a police post in the Khaskunar district of the eastern province of Kunar on the night of April 16, but caused no casualties, an Afghan police officer said. The attack sparked a 30-minute clash between the police and militants. Police also defused a remote-control roadside mine in the same district. The incidents come at a time when Afghan and US-led Coalition Forces have launched a major offensive in the Pech and Manogai districts, which border on Pakistan.
