Kyrgyz Education Under Review

An education ministry conference will be held in Bishkek on May 15 to discuss the quality of school and university education in Kyrgyzstan and review the system from an international perspective. Kyrgyzstan signed the Bologna Declaration in 2002, a European initiative aimed at making it easier for students to study in other countries. Compulsory schooling in Kyrgyzstan is to be extended to 12 years from 2010.
