Wednesday, 4 April, 2007
On April 5, former prime minister Felix Kulov, who heads the opposition United Front for a Worthy Future for Kyrgyzstan, will make his views known on whether negotiations with the Kyrgyz authorities are possible ahead of mass rallies scheduled for April 11. The United Front is demanding President Kurmanbek Bakiev’s resignation and early presidential elections. On April 3, Azamat Kalman, a spokesman for the United Front, denied that the movement and its ally, the Movement for Reforms, are to send five members to hold talks with five representatives from the authorities.
