Although Krajisnik’s testimony was first expected last August and has been delayed a number of times since, the defence are now proposing that he takes the stand on May 1.

He faces charges of “participation in creating the joint criminal enterprise with the goal of destroying the Bosnian Muslim and Bosnian Croatian nationals within Bosnia and Hercegovina” in 1991 and 1992.

The prosecutor opposed yet another delay, pointing out that the case has already been underway for two years and has been halted several times to allow Krajisnik to prepare.

Krajisnik explained that his poor health was one reason behind the delays.

Presiding judge Alphone Orie told the parties to be ready to continue next week, though what the trial will hear is unclear, as the defence has called no new witnesses.
