President Hamed Karzai is to attend the third summit of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference on December 7 and 8 in the Saudi city of Mecca. The summit is expected to discuss the political, cultural and economic challenges facing the Muslim world. Iraq, Israel and Palestine will also be discussed at the summit. According to the president’s office, Karzai will deliver a speech to the summit and hold bilateral meetings with other leaders of Muslim states. He is being accompanied by Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah, presidential security advisor Zalmai Rasul, and his foreign affairs adviser Dadfar Spanta.
