Journalists' Freedom Observatory Calls for Protecting Journalists

Al-Mada is issued daily by Al-Mada institution for Media, Culture and Arts.

The journalists' freedom observatory has asked the international community to protect journalists working in Iraq and to form an international committee to investigate the daily violations against media workers. The observatory, in honour of (the United Nations') World Press Freedom Day, said those who committed crimes against journalists should be tried in an international court. It called on US forces and Iraqi authorities to conduct wide investigations to uncover who is targeting journalists, no matter which groups they belong to. It asked that (authorities) take decisive steps to protect journalists.
