The Iraqi Kurdistan regional government has threatened to declare independence unless central government drops its insistence on being involved in the development of the oil industry in the Kurdistan region. In a statement on his official website, Nizheeravan Brazani, the Iraqi Kurdistan prime minister, said the people of Kurdistan people agreed to be part of Iraq on the basis of the new constitution. And if Baghdad refused to stick to the constitution, Kurds would have the right to review their position.
