Historic sites in danger

Al-Mada is issued daily by Al-Mada institution for Media, Culture, and Arts.

The manager of Basra’s antiquity office Hashim Mohammed al-Azzam warned that some historic sites are in danger. He said those in the Zubair area are particularly vulnerable as people are building houses there, a situation he described as a crisis that could lead to Iraq’s treasures disappearing.
