United Iraqi Alliance leader Humam Hammoodi called on representatives of Arab states attending the reconciliation conference to make concerted efforts to support the Iraqi people and its new government. Hammoodi (who leads the most powerful alliance in parliament) said that Iraq will ask Arab countries to cancel their debts to Iraq and to help the country rebuild, as the European states have. He said that Iraq will ask them to help eliminate terrorism by controlling their borders with Iraq and preventing terrorists from infiltrating the country.
