Good Relations with the Neighbouring States

Al-Bayan is issued four times weekly by the Islamic Dawa Party, chaired by Ja'afari.

Prime minister Ibrahim al-Ja'afari said Iraqis are hopeful that foreign forces will withdraw from Iraq, but they should not pull out now because it would hurt the security situation. He said terrorists would return to carrying out violence if foreign forces leave Iraq. He added in a press conference in Tokyo that Iraq tends to have good relations with neighbouring states, provided they do not interfere in local (Iraqi) affairs and that armed groups do not infiltrate Iraq. He said the government hopes Sunni Arabs will participate in the upcoming elections.
