IWPR’s Conflict Reporting School ran its first course at the Georgian military’s Sachkhere base in December 2009 with crews from six leading Georgian broadcasters, teaching them how to stay safe while covering conflicts.

Events in the six-day course ranged from classroom sessions on weapons and mines and first aid to a day-long exercise involving members of the Georgian armed forces and even the British ambassador to Georgia.
