Thirteen Iraqi journalists with little or no TV experience came to Sulaimaniyah in March 2008 for a short IWPR course on TV and video journalism, delivered by Regina Heidecke, an experienced TV journalist and documentary filmmaker from German Public Broadcasting 3SAT/ZDF. As part of the course, held at the IWPR training centre in northern Iraq, the trainees produced their own films.

The training course, part of the Women Media Initiative, was organised and supervised by Middle East Programme Manager Susanne Fischer.
