A four-day official visit New Delhi by Afghan president Hamed Karzai, leading a large delegation from the government and parliament, is taking place at a time when Afghanistan is seeking to boost relations with its neighbours. During the visit, the two sides stressed the improving relationship between Afghanistan and India and signed three pacts on education and rural development. Today’s good relationship between Kabul and Delhi is based on democracy, peace and security. The latest talks showed that the Indian authorities are committed to the reconstruction of Afghanistan, and Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh pledged an additional 50 million US dollars for this process. The establishment of enduring cooperation with countries like India indicates that our country’s diplomacy has improved and is likely to strengthen further in the region.
