Editorial: A media charter for reconciliation

Al-Sabah is a daily independent publicly owned newspaper.

Today sees the inauguration of a new charter for Iraqi and Arab media outlets, which pledges to rid output of inflammatory words and expressions that might sow hatred and divisions among Iraqi people. This initiative is an attempt to create a democratic atmosphere for Iraqi journalists and forces them to address the problems and sufferings of the people. Members of the media have an important role in creating a better future, by promoting the notion of reconciliation and unity.
