Drug smugglers arrested

Anis is a state-run daily published mostly in Dari.

Afghan police arrested two drug smugglers and seized 100 kilograms of opium in the western province of Farah on April 15, officials said. A press officer at the Afghan interior ministry confirmed the news, adding the traffickers were arrested in the Qala-e-Kah district while trying to smuggle the narcotics to neighbouring Iran. In a separate incident the same day, Afghan border forces arrested a drug smuggler and seized 18 kilograms of opium in the Murghab district of the north-western province of Badghis, officials said.
