District police chief injured in attack

Islah is a state-run daily published mostly in Dari.

Taleban militants ambushed the chief of police in Gulistan district in the western province of Farah on April 25, wounding him and killing one of his bodyguards. Mohammad Anwar, a press officer at provincial police headquarters, said that the attack occurred when the police chief was on his way to the provincial capital. He added that police have not yet made any arrests.
