Crisis Cuts Kyrgyz Tourist Trade

The ongoing unrest in Kyrgyzstan has slashed the number of people coming as tourists.

The foreign ministries of many states are advising their nationals not to travel to the Central Asian states in the wake of protests that brought about a change of regime in April, and subsequent outbreaks of trouble.

Travel agencies say they are losing out from the slump in foreign visitors.
