He will be allowed to travel to Kosovo between April 23 and April 27 to spend time with his family and attend a memorial service.



He will be escorted from the Hague detention unit by tribunal security officers and delivered into the custody of officials from the United Nations Mission in Kosovo, UNMIK at Pristina airport. During the release period, Bala will not be allowed to contact victims or witnesses, talk with the media or discuss his case with anyone.



Bala is currently appealing the sentence handed down to him for crimes committed in and around a makeshift detention camp in the village of Lapusnik in Kosovo in 1998, including a massacre of nine prisoners.
